Donor's choice in care of the family

Marcella Adeline Ficke was born on July 8, 1928, to Henry and Hattie (Krieser) Klintworth in Seward. She was the second of three children born to this union, having an older brother Roland and a younger brother Ted. Marcella received the blessing of Holy Baptism on July 22, 1928 at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward by Rev. C. H. Becker. Her baptismal sponsors were Anna Stillahn and Hulda Krieser. Marcella confirmed her faith in the Triune God and was welcomed as a communicant member on March 29, 1942, at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward by Rev. I. C. Heinicke.
Marcella attended elementary school at St. John Lutheran and graduated from Seward High School in 1946. Marcella began her work history at Protective Fire, then Dairyland Insurance, Allied Insurance, Stuart Insurance, Union Bank & Trust, and Vahl Drug, retiring from Nelnet in 2003.
On April 8, 1956, Marcella was married to Richard John Ficke at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward by Pastor Martin Yauk. They lived on a farm southwest of Utica until 1960 when they moved to 4021 X Street in Lincoln. In Lincoln they joined Redeemer Lutheran Church. Marcella and Richard loved to travel and went all over the United States and to Germany twice.
Marcella and Richard moved to Seward in 2006 when Richard entered Anna Sundermann East Home. Marcella was at the Home almost every day to see Richard and was always present with Richard at the church and communion services held at the Home. The Fickes also became members of St. John Lutheran Church in Seward.
On May 23, 2010, after fulfilling her vow to see Richard home to heaven and having fought the good fight and keeping the faith herself, Marcella finished the race and passed quietly into the waiting arms of Jesus, in the presence of her loving family and friends. God granted Marcella 81 years, 10 months, and 15 days on this earth, but now Marcella is united with her husband Richard and family members in eternity with Jesus in heaven.
Marcella was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years Richard Ficke, her parents, Henry and Hattie Klintworth, her brother Ted Klintworth, and her sister-in-law Maria Klintworth.
Marcella is survived by her brother, Roland Klintworth of Seward; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Rose Klintworth of Seward Gladys and Bob Bluhm of Seward, Elaine and Bill Junge of Lincoln; four nephews and their families, many extended family members and friends.
Marcellas earthly body will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband Richard, at Greenwood Cemetery, in Seward, Nebraska, to await the glorious day of the resurrection of all the dead.
"Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints." Psalm 116:15
