Margaret Faye (Koop) Asmus Alexander was born June 22, 1912 to Charles John and Margaret C. (Janssen) Koop on the farm home at Dorchester, Nebraska. She attended rural school there and then moved with her parents to Crete where she graduated from the 8th grade. She then moved to Dorchester with her parents where she graduated from high school in 1930. After graduation she worked at the Dorchester bank for 3 1/2 years.
On February 21, 1934, Margaret married Donald E. Asmus and to this union a daughter, Jean and a son, Don were born. Her husband passed away in 1966. On September 12, 1972, she married Lloyd W. Cox who passed away in 1981. Margaret married Harold E. Alexander on October 8, 1983. Harold passed away in 2005.
Margaret was employed out of high school at the Dorchester Bank. She moved to Seward in 1953 and was a former employee of the Gas Company and an 18 year employee of Seward County Rural Public Power District. She was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Preceding Margaret in death were her parents, Charles and Margaret Koop; her husbands, Donald, Lloyd and Harold; two brothers, Clarence and Orin; two sisters, Ida Dittman and Gladys Aksamit; nieces and nephews.
Margaret is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Will Medow, Lincoln; son and daughter-in-law, Don and Rachel Asmus, Merriam, KS; step-son and wife, Harold E. (Gene) and Karen Alexander, Bailey, CO; three grandsons, Greg and Criz Medow, Brian Medow, Chad and Candy Asmus; two granddaughters, Sheri and Gene Lanz and Brenda and George Erzen; step-grandchildren and wives; seven great-grandchildren, Amanda, Amber and Anna Medow, Abe and Mariah Smith, Jeremiah and Wyatt Erzen; two great-great-grandsons, Christian Duffield and Derek Bandt; step great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Margaret.
