Margaret Kathryn (Kilzer) Engler was born on April 8, 1918 in Tamora, Nebraska to Otto George and Florence Hazel (Darnell) Kilzer and passed away in Seward, Nebraska on April 20, 2006 at the age of 88 years, 12 days. Margaret was a 1936 graduate of Garland High School. She was a housekeeper in Lincoln and worked at the Seward Hospital prior to her marriage. On September 2, 1940 she was united in marriage to Bernard John David Engler in Lincoln, Nebraska. The couple lived in Omaha for 3 years and then moved to Seward in 1945. Margaret was employed as a bookkeeper for Engler Construction Service and also managed the Seward Pool for several years. She began employment with Cattle National Bank and Trust Company as a bookkeeper in 1960 and retired in 1983. She was a member of the Seward United Methodist Church and served on the Building Committee for the church. She enjoyed the Seward Lied Senior Center and her sewing circle. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Florence Kilzer; her husband, Bernard on January 30, 1956; and her sister, Nola McAdams. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Tom Randol, Kansas City, Missouri and Kathy and Robert Skip Yelle', Gainesville, Florida; four grandchildren and their spouses, Todd and Kelley Randol, Guy and Connie Randol, Joel Ainsworth and Meghann Ainsworth; two great-grandchildren, Brett Randol and Alyssa Randol; brother and sister-in-law, Willard and Audrey Kilzer, Seward; sister, Beverly Housel, Lincoln; nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Margaret. |
