Margaret M.T. Spatz was born on May 30, 1926 in Bee, NE; the daughter of Joseph and Clara (Hottovy) Pavel and passed away on September 14, 2016, in Seward at the age of 90 years, 3 months and 15 days. Margaret was a graduate of Assumption Catholic High School in Dwight. On March 30, 1948 she married Adolph Alois Spatz at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Utica. The couple was blessed with four children. They made their home in the Bee area where they farmed their entire lives. She was a dedicated farm wife and mother. She was a lifelong member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church where she served as past President of St. Wenceslaus Altar Society and was also a member of the church choir for many years. She was the President of the Resident Council at Greene Place where she lived for the last four years.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Adolph A. Spatz; son, David J. and daughter-in-law, Marilyn K. Spatz; granddaughter, Kathryn Elizabeth Spatz; sister, Ann and husband Leo Rau; brothers, Joseph Pavel Jr. and Raymond and wife Evelyn Pavel; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Klein, Alois Hottovy, Anthony DiPaolo, Louis, William, Ray, Dan and Emil Spatz, Leonard Ratkovec, Albin and wife Gladys Ustohal; sister-in-law Irene Spatz.
Margaret is survived by her children, AJ and Margaret M. Spatz, Seward, Dorothy A. and David Nieland, Austin, MN, Thomas J. and Marilyn J. Spatz, Urbandale, IA, grandchildren: Brian J. and Lisa J. Spatz, Lincoln, Janeen L. and Derek Sturtevant, Waverly, Jacque A. and Travis Bailey, Fairfield, Kristin M. and Brian Farber, Omaha, Kimberly A. and Jordan Owens, Seward, Jennifer A. and Jim Handlan, Lewisburg, PA, Jamie L. and Ryan Melbourne, Red Deer, Alberta Canada; fourteen great grandchildren: Taylor Spatz, Logan Spatz, Brayden Sturtevant, Addison Sturtevant, Austin Bailey, Nick Bailey, Rylee Bailey, Karlee Bailey, Amelia Farber, Alivia Farber, Alliana Farber, Natalie Handlan, Kyan Melbourne, Kiptyn Melbourne; sisters, Marie Hottovy, Leona DiPaolo, Angela Klein and Marcy and husband Don Stava; sisters-in-law, Margie Ratkovec, Caroline Spatz.
