Marie Ann (Sedlak) Coufal was born February 2, 1923 near Brainard, Nebraska to Anton and Josephine (Rech) Sedlak and passed away in Seward, Nebraska on August 3, 2010, at the age of 87 years, 6 months, 1 day. Marie was a 1941 graduate of Dwight High School in Dwight, Nebraska. She was united in marriage to Albin Ernest Coufal and their marriage was blessed with two children, Karen and Dave. Marie was a cook at the Corner Cafe in Seward and was a nurse's aid at Seward Memorial Hospital. She was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, Altar Society and an honorary member of PCCW. Marie is preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Josephine Sedlak; her husband, Albin E. Coufal in 1965; her brothers, Louis, Bill, Emil, Jim and Tony Sedlak; and her sisters, Verna Jakub and Helen Zegers. Marie is survived by her daughter, Karen Coufal of Seward; her son and daughter-in-law, Dave and Renee Coufal of Seward; grandchildren, Cody Coufal, Jeremy and Haley Coufal, Ryan Coufal, Lynsey Coufal; sister-in-law, Mary Sedlak of Omaha; nieces and nephews; cousins and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers, and memories of life shared with Marie. |
