Marie Alice (Hain) Greguras was born May 9, 1920 in A township near Bee, Nebraska to Charles Frank Hain, Sr. and Mary (Miriovsky) Hain and passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 in David City, Nebraska at the age of 88 years, 1 month, 23 days. Marie attended Country School and then Bee High School. She did housework in Omaha where she met Edward. They were married on May 4, 1940 and lived in Omaha for 6 years. Their marriage was blessed with four children, Clarence, Bill, Edward, Jr. and Mary Beth. In 1946, they moved to the farm near Bee. Marie was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and held many offices in the Altar Society. When they retired from farming in May of 1980, they moved into Seward and Edward passed away in December of 1981. Marie was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church and was also an Honorary Member of PCCW. She worked at Dale's Steak House and at Seward Lumber for many years. She was also assistant custodian for St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church. In 1990, Marie moved to Seward Manor and made her home there for many years. She was a devoted housewife, homemaker and mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Edward A. Greguras, Sr.; her parents, Charles, Sr. and Mary Hain, daughter-in-law, Barbara Greguras, granddaughter, Jean Greguras, brother, Charles Hain. Marie is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Clarence and Char Greguras, Brainard, Bill and Emily Greguras, Bee, Edward, Jr. and Cathy Greguras, Seward; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Beth and Sam Smith, Oklahoma City, OK; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Tony Hottovy,, Dwight; brother-in-law, Lawrence Greguras, Omaha; sister-in-law, Frances Shepherd, Omaha; nieces and nephews; other relatives and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers, and memories of life shared with Marie. |
