Obituary
Marilyn grew up on the family farm and attended Dwight Public School where she graduated with the Class of 1948. She later attended Midland College and the University of Nebraska where she earned a teaching degree. She taught for six years at District #81 and two years at Dwight Public School. On October 12, 1954, Marilyn was united in marriage to Edwin E. Gruntorad in Dwight. The couple farmed in the Dwight area for many years. They loved dancing and traveled all over the United States and even to the Czech Republic for this favorite pastime. They also enjoyed going to flea markets and auctions.
Marilyn was always concerned about family and friends not getting enough to eat, especially candy. Marilyn was a lifelong member of Assumption Catholic Church where she served on the Altar Society. She was also a member of the Dwight American Legion Post #110 Auxiliary.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edwin; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Harold and Aldene Lowe; brother-in-law, Richard J. Coufal; cousins, Eugene and Dorothy Smola.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Marcy Coufal, Seward and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of a life shared with Marilyn.
