Marion Ruth Haas Cloninger was born May 7, 1942 in Rolla, Missouri to Walter Ernest and Mary Zella (Adams) Haas and passed away in Seward, Nebraska on March 4, 2010 at the age of 67 yeas, 9 months, 28 days. Marion attended country school through the 8th grade and was a 1959 graduate of Rolla High School. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Missouri at Columbia and her Master of Science degree in Food Science and Nutrition also from the University of Missouri-Columbia. On May 19, 1962, Marion was united in marriage to Franklin Dale Cloninger at the First Presbyterian Church in Rolla, MO. Their marriage was blessed with two daughters, Carla and Mary. The family moved to Elkhorn, Nebraska in 1976 and resided there for over 30 years. Marion and Frank moved to Seward, Nebraska in November of 2009. Marion was a member of Elkhorn Hills United Methodist Church. Other memberships included, Extension Club, HEIH (Home Economists in Homemaking), Cottonwood Quilt Guild, Long Arm Quilters and she was the owner of "MC Quilts" for 15 years.
Marion is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Mary Haas; her brother, Roger Haas and sister, Eleanor Brown.
Marion is survived by her husband, Frank Cloninger of Seward; her daughters and sons-in-law, Carla and J.B. Ketner of Seward, NE, Mary Cloninger-Holmgren and her husband, Steven Holmgren of Bozeman, MT; grandsons, Joel and Nathan Ketner, Benjamin and Isaac Holmgren; sister and brother-in-law, Emily and Al Wyckoff of Ankeny, IA; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Nancy Haas of Falls Creek, TN; sister-in-law, Marilyn Haas of Clarence, NY; brother-in-law, James Brown of Dallas, TX; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers, and memories of life shared with Marion.
