Marjorie Jean (Gabel) Dobesh was born January 16, 1931 in Stromsburg, Nebraska to Englebert Emanuel and Anna Susan (Augustin) Gabel and passed away in Lincoln, Nebraska on December 31, 2009 at the age of 78 years, 11 months, 15 days. She was a 1948 graduate of Shelby High School and taught country school near Shelby until she was married. On June 28, 1951, Marjorie was united in marriage to Joseph Raphael Dobesh, Jr. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shelby, Nebraska and their marriage was blessed with six sons. The family was engaged in farming and lived on the same farm northeast of Staplehurst all of Joseph and Marjorie's married life. Marjorie was formerly a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ulysses where she was also a member of Altar Society and taught CCD. Marjorie moved to Seward in 2002 and was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, P.C.C.W. and SINE Group, all in Seward. She was a Sundermann Home activities and home health aid for many years. Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents, Englebert and Anna Gabel and her husband, Joseph R. Dobesh, Jr., in 1986. Marjorie is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Dave and Gail Dobesh, Lincoln, Dr. Ron and Kathy Dobesh, Wahoo, Dr. Gerald Dobesh, Wahoo, Don and Becky Dobesh, North Platte, Drs. Mike and Kathy Dobesh, Santa Fe, New Mexico, Kevin and Bridget Dobesh, West Point; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers and sister-in-law, Duane and Millie Gabel and Charles Gabel, all of Osceola; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Alice and Winard Augustin, Shelby; other relatives and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Marjorie. |
