Marjorie Anne Woolsey was born on October 24, 1933, in Staplehurst, Nebraska to Anton Edward and Mary Elizabeth (Walsh) Coufal and entered her heavenly home on July 16, 2024, in David City, Nebraska at the age of 90 years, 8 months and 22 days.
Marjorie grew up in the Staplehurst area where she attended country school District #41. She later attended and graduated from Ulysses High School with the Class of 1951. On August 19, 1951, Marjorie was united in marriage to Francis "Frank" Woolsey at the Ulysses United Methodist Church. The couple moved to Bangor, Maine where Frank was stationed in the Air Force and then moved to Alexandria, Louisiana until he was discharged. They made their way back to Nebraska where they farmed in the Ulysses area. Marjorie worked at the Ulysses Market, David City Manufacturing and Metro Mail for several years before she started at the U.S. Post Office, where she became the Postmaster. She cherished being with her family and loved them very much. Every Sunday morning you could find her by the table listening to polkas on the radio. She enjoyed baking and pies were her specialty. Marjorie was a member of the David City United Methodist Church.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Francis "Frank" Woolsey; son, Steve Woolsey; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Donald and Norma Woolsey, Robert Woolsey; sisters and brothers-in-law, Rita and Rex Schwarz, Joyce and Dick Poe.
Survivors cherishing her memory include her children, daughter-in-law, Sharon Woolsey, David City, Kenny and wife, Linda Woolsey, Rising City, Dianne and husband, Steve Makovicka, Brainard, Scott and wife, Bailey Woolsey, Bartley, NE, Yvonne and husband, Larry Naber, Utica; sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Raymond White; sister-in-law, Anne Woolsey; 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
