Obituary
Herm grew up on the farm loving the land and everything about farming. On April 25, 1952, he married Miriam "Jean" Jones and to this union four children were born. Herm worked for Seward Motor Freight when he and Jeanne got married. As the children came, it was time to look for a better opportunity and he moved his young family to Omaha, NE. There he worked for Navajo Freight Lines and Arkansas Best Freight. He took a second job at Aksarben Racetrack which he enjoyed very much. Upon retirement, he and Jeanne moved back to Seward to the farm. Herm was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle. He remained on the farm after Jeanne's death in 2009, until he moved to Omaha in 2015 to be closer to his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Herm was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne; his parents; two brothers and one sister.
Survivors include his four children, Nicole Crnic (Ed), Thomas Bender, Lydia Dengel (Ray), Georgene Dudley (David); two brothers, Alvin Bender and Dennis Bender (Debbie); two sisters, Retha Dowding (Lloyd), Elaine Lamberty (Larry); sister-in-law, Martha Bender; 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and countless other family and friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Herm.
