Obituary

Marty Roland Klintworth was born on February 14, 1958, to Roland and Maria (Schroeder) Klintworth in Seward. He was the third of three children born to this union, having two older brothers Monty Ellis and Mitch Alan. Marty received the blessing of Holy Baptism on March 9, 1958, at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward by Rev. L. W. Heidemann. His baptismal sponsors were Loren and Esther Niemann. He became a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church rural Staplehurst, with his family before his parents transferred their and his membership to Immanuel Lutheran (Middle Creek) near Seward, NE. Marty's family took him to church regularly and hearing prayers before meals and bedtime was important to Marty. He especially loved the music. Marty spent his early years at home, lovingly cared for by his family, with the help of his grandparents, and other extended family members. As opportunities for mentally challenged people became more readily available, Marty was transported by family and friends so he could participate in these programs. He went to General Arnold in Lincoln for a few years, was involved in the ARC programs in Seward, and began vocational services through LOMR in August, 1976. He was transferred to Region V Day Services in July, 1978, eventually moving to a Region V group home in David City in November, 1981, so he could be closer to the workshop he participated in each day. Christmas was Marty's favorite holiday and everything in his room was decorated with Christmas all year around. The lights, decorations and music especially fascinated him. He also liked country western music, sitting by the stereo, with his Pepsi nearby. Celebrating birthdays was also important to him - lighting the candles, turning off the lights, singing the song, the celebrant blowing out the candles and then re-lighting them for Marty to blow out. He had everyone who loved him and who he loved wrapped around his little finger. On December 18, 2011, after having fought the good fight and keeping the faith, Marty finished the race and passed quietly into the waiting arms of Jesus, in the presence of his caregivers at David Place in David City. God granted Marty 53 years, 10 months, and 4 days on this earth, and now Marty is united with his beloved family who had preceded him in death to Heaven: his mother Maria Klintworth, his grandparents Henry and Hattie Klintworth, and Martin and Bertha Schroeder, aunt and uncle Marcella and Richard Ficke and uncle Ted Klintworth. Left to cherish Marty's memory include: His father, Roland Klintworth of Seward His brothers and spouses, Monty and Chris Klintworth of rural Pleasant Dale Mitch and Priscilla Klintworth of rural Seward Nephew and spouse, Daniel and Kim Klintworth of Seward Nephew, Nathan Klintworth of rural Seward His aunt and uncle, Elwin and Marilyn Schroeder of Shelby Township. MI His aunt, Rose Klintworth of Seward, NE His baptismal sponsors, Loren and Esther Niemann of Staplehurst, NE Five cousins and their families, and many extended family members and friends and especially his "family" of Staff and Residents at Region V in David City. At the request of his Grandparents Klintworth, Marty's earthly body will be laid to rest next to them at Greenwood Cemetery, in Seward, Nebraska, to await the glorious day of the resurrection of all the dead. "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints."
