Mary Louise (Meyers) Bruce was born November 26, 1943 in Oakdale, Louisiana to Virgil Lee and Mattie Mae Hazel (Townley) Meyers and passed away in Lincoln, Nebraska on February 28, 2011 at the age of 67 years, 3 months, 2 days. Mary attended school in Oakdale and Franklin Louisiana and was a 1962 graduate of Franklin High School. She attended business school at Nichols State for two years. On March 4, 1967, Mary was united in marriage to Ralph Arland Bruce, Jr. in McPherson, Kansas. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Gerald, Dawn and Suzanne. Mary and Ralph moved to Seward in 1988 and Mary was employed at Metromail from 1988-1992. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Virgil L. and Hazel Meyers; brother, Donald L. Meyers; brother-in-law, Nicholas Arton, Sr. and nephew, Nicholas Arton, Jr. Mary is survived by her husband, Ralph "Whitey" Bruce of Seward; son, Gerald W. Bruce and Kim Morales of Friend; daughters and son-in-law, Dawn Burns of Seward and Suzanne and Darko Gligorevic of Seward; five grandchildren, James Burns, Rhiannon Burns, Nikolas, Stefan, and Damien Gligorevic; brothers and sisters-in-law, Francis and Janice Meyers of Kalama, WA, Mike and Trish Meyers of Iowa, LA, Tommy and Aleta Meyers of Charenton, LA, Davy and Missy Boudreaux of Franklin, LA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy Arton of Franklin, LA, Brenda and Tim Achee of Hemphill, TX, Ann and Gary Naquin of Arnaudville, LA; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Faye and Harris Terry of McPherson, KS, Anita and Rick Lawrenz of McPherson, KS; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gary and Saundra Bruce of McPherson, KS, Charles and Kay Bruce of Phoenix, AZ and Stan and Laura Bruce of McPherson, KS; many nieces and nephews.
