Mary Frances (Liskovec) Cihal was born January 28, 1919 in Rising City, Nebraska the daughter of Frank and Pauline (Andel) Liskovec and passed away on November 29, 2014 in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 95 years , 10 months and 1 day. Mary attended rural school near Rising City through the 8th grade. She was united in marriage to Frank Stephen Cihal on June 20, 1938 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shelby. Their marriage was blessed with four children, Melvin, "Mel", Mary Jean "Jeanne", Dolores "Dell" and Gary. They farmed near Dwight for many years before retiring and moving into Seward in 1976. Mary was a member of the Altar Society at Assumption Catholic Church and Catholic Workman in Dwight and St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and PCCW in Seward. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Pauline Liskovec; her husband, Frank Cihal in 1998; her son-in-law, Leon Orender; brothers and sister-in-law, Bill and Lida Liskovec and Johnny Liskovec; sisters and brothers-in-law, Emma and Joe Voboril and Clara and Mike Slosar and Ernie Pernicek. Mary is survived by her children and spouses, Mel and Kay Cihal, Dwight, Jeanne and Larry Riha, Lincoln, Dell Orender, Lincoln, Gary and Shirley Cihal, Dwight; sister, Gladys Pernicek, David City; 12 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; three great-great-granddaughters; nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
