Mary Anna Gubser Marr was born November 6, 1928 to Charles J. and Daisy E. (Baumgardner) Gubser and passed away on November 5, 2005, at the age of 76 years, 11 months, 29 days. Mary was a graduate of Ulysses High School. In 1949, Mary was united in marriage to Maynard L. Marr in Concordia, Kansas. Mary was a longtime owner and operator of Marys Beauty Shop in Utica. She was a member of the Utica United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary No. 49 in Utica and the Auxiliary of VFW Post No. 4755 in Seward. Mary loved coin and stamp collecting. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles J. and Daisy E. Gubser; her husband, Maynard Marr, in 1999; her daughter, Barb Bredenkamp and her brother, Glen Gubser. Mary is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Marty and Annette Marr, Utica; her daughter and son-in-law, Jeri and Mike Weston, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; her step daughter and husband, Joan and Marker Nichols, Murdock, Nebraska; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; her brother, William B. Bill Gubser and friend, Darleen Hitz, Lincoln; her sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Bob Semler, Dorchester; sister-in-law, Marge Gubser, Lincoln; nieces and nephews and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Mary. |
