Mary Lou (Boyd) Martin was born February 19, 1929 in Newtown, Missouri to John R. and Marie (Smiley) Boyd and passed away in Seward, Nebraska on May 26, 2006 at the age of 77 years, 3 months, 7 days. Mary Lou was a high school graduate and attended college for one year. She was married to Billy Junior Martin on October 19, 1950 at Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Mary Lou was a homemaker and a former employee of Cherry Burrell, now International Paper. She attended the United Methodist Church. Mary Lou moved to Seward, Nebraska in May of 2000 with her son and daughter-in-law, having previously lived in Arkansas for a short time and in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents, John and Marie Boyd; her husband, Billy Junior Martin in 1997; her brothers, J.W. Boyd and Lawrence Boyd; sisters, Virginia Clark, Ila Marie Boyd and Annabelle Boyd. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Billy Joe and Marlene Martin of Seward; three grandchildren, Andrea Martin, Candace Martin and Jeremiah Martin; nine great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Carl and Sandy Boyd of Bert City, Kansas, Robert Boyd of Marion, Iowa, Orville and Barb Boyd of Frederick, Colorado; sisters and brother-in-law, Helen and Clyde Burks of Olathe, Kansas, Ruth Huddleston of Mexico, Missouri and a host of friends.
