Mary Elizabeth Oborny was born January 8, 1951 at Omaha, Nebraska to Lawrence Richard and Elizabeth Ann (Hilger) Harrison and went to be with God on March 24, 2009, after her courageous battle with cancer. Mary was a 1969 graduate of Falls City Sacred Heart High School and then graduated from Reece and Sybil Beauty School in Lincoln. On August 15, 1987, Mary was united in marriage to Adolph Francis Oborny. She worked at ISCO for a short time. Mary provided day care in their home for many years and was a "Professional Grandmother" providing daycare for her grandchildren. Mary was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church in Seward and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Association. She loved reading, was an avid sewer and quilter, enjoyed knitting baby blankets, making rosaries and loved animals.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence R. Harrison and Elizabeth A. (Hilger) Harrison Havlovic and Joseph Havlovic and her brother, Richard Harrison.
Mary is survived by her husband, Adolph F. Oborny of Garland; children and spouses, Christina and Nathan Payne, Utica, Kimberly and Daniel Buchheit, Chadron, Troy and Jamie Oborny, Milford, Chad and Peggy Oborny, Garland, Jill Kocian, York, Nicole Dunn, Omaha; 20 grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Rose Harrison, Omaha; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers, and memories of life shared with Mary.
