Mary Ann (Hrdlicka) Pospichal was born October 21, 1926 near Wahoo, Nebraska to Henry and Maria (Zimola) Hrdlicka and passed away on November 13, 2006 in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 80 years, 23 days. Mary attended Wahoo Schools and was a graduate of Wahoo High School. On May 6, 1947, Mary was united in marriage to William J. Pospichal in Wahoo. They lived in Omaha when they were first married and Mary worked at a bakery and later at a hotel. They later moved to Ulysses, Nebraska. Their marriage was blessed with three daughters, Lorraine, Janet and Mary Pat. Mary was employed at Seward Memorial Hospital for 25 years. Mary and Bill enjoyed traveling together to Las Vegas, Hawaii and attending Nebraska football games, having been ticket holders for over 45 years. They owned race horses and enjoyed watching them run. In April of 1999, Mary moved to Heartland Park in Seward, Nebraska. She was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church and enjoyed visiting and doing volunteer work at Memorial Hospital. Mary enjoyed her entire family gathering to celebrate her 80th birthday with two parties. Her family gathered on October 22nd and on October 28th she celebrated with an Open House. Being an avid Nebraska football fan, Mary enjoyed watching the Nebraska and Texas A & M football game on Saturday, November 11, with her 3 daughters and Mike,cheering the entire game. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Pospichal; her parents, Henry and Maria Hrdlicka; brothers, Henry Hrdlicka and Joseph Hrdlicka. Left to cherish Mary's memory are her daughters and sons-in-law, Lorraine and Dean Rock, Overland Park, Kansas, Janet and Michael Offner, Red Cloud, Mary Pat and Don Vacek, Omaha; her grandchildren and spouses, Lisa and Chris Lundquist, Stephanie and Bob Meyer, Adam and Darah Offner, Andrew and Marsha Offner, Ashlee Vacek and Tyler Vacek; great-grandchildren, Spencer, Hunter and Cooper Lundquist, Tate Meyer, Faith, Levi and Rose Offner, Devon Offner; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth and Joe Beranek, Wahoo, Ethel and Bob Adams, Omaha, Sibyl and Bill Carr, Lincoln, Zita Comas, Carroll, IA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Florian and Linda Hrdlicka, Lincoln, Bernie and Mary Hrdlicka, Fremont; nieces and nephews and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Mary. |
