Maxine Dorothy Herrold Petri was born November 13, 1921 at Tamora, Nebraska to Leonard W. and Elsie E. (Flowerday) Herrold. She passed away in Santa Clara, California on November 27, 2012 at the age of 91 years, 14 days. Maxine was raised in Tamora with one brother, Robert W. Herrold. Maxine was a 1939 graduate of Tamora High School. She taught school for a year and a half in Goehner after receiving her teaching certificate. She enlisted and served in the U.S. Army as a WAC during World War II. She returned to Nebraska following her military service and then moved to California where she spent her remaining years. Maxine is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Elsie Herrold and her brother, Robert Herrold. Maxine is survived by her caregiver, Nannette Mojica, Milpitas, California; her niece, Sandra Nolte of southern California and several cousins.
