Virginia Maxine (Stallings) Simonsen was born January 12, 1931 in rural Utica, Nebraska to Roy Sylvester and Sara Louise (Hafer) Stallings and passed away in York, Nebraska on March 4, 2009 at the age of 78 years, 1 month, 23 days. Maxine attended country grade school and Utica High School. On April 25, 1952, she was united in marriage to Rex R. Simonsen in Seward. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Gale and Vicki. Maxine worked at the Market in Utica. She enjoyed crafts, swimming aerobics, traveling and dancing. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, Roy S. and Louise Stallings; her husband, Rex R. Simonsen; her brother, Wayne Stallings and her sister, Jean Willett. Maxine is survived by her son, Gale Simonsen of Utica; her daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Doug Loos of Lincoln; her grandchildren, Levi Lehr and Lacey Lehr, both of Lincoln; her sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Stallings of Osceola, Gerry Simonsen of Lincoln, Ida Simonsen of Utica, Annie Leif of York; brother-in-law, Al Willett of Lakewood, Colorado; aunts, Dorisjune Craig of Lincoln, Dorothy Hafer of Seward; many nieces and nephews; cousins and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Maxine. |
