Michael Kretzler was born on January 20, 1970, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Michael Kretzler, Sr. and Maggie Crisanti and passed away on January 23, 2026, in Pleasant Dale, Nebraska at the age of 56.
Michael attended Cannon County High School in Woodbury, Tennessee. He was an amazing horseman and trained racehorses as well. Michael was a jockey and very skilled exercise rider. He traveled all over the United States with his horses and beloved dogs, Stoney and Laycee. Michael taught several people to ride horses and never charged them a penny.
Michael’s family loved him so much and this world will be a lot less meaningful and a lot dimmer without him here. Everyone that knew him loved him. He was always the favorite and rightfully so. Michael always did what he was supposed to do, worked hard, and was never lazy or questioned why he had to do things. He was very thoughtful and would starve just to feed a stranger. Michael could fix anything on a vehicle, without ever being taught. He was known by many names including Michael, Tackle Box and Unc. He found great joy in loving his niece and nephews.
Michael is survived by his parents, Michael Kretzler, Sr. (Robin); mother, Maggie Crisanti; brother, Anthony Crisanti; sister, Maggie Bates and husband, Richard; nephew, Dakota; Godson, Liam; niece, Cheyenne (Bella); best and lifelong friend, Chris Sullenberger; several aunts and uncles, cousins and a ton of friends.
Services will be announced at a later date.
