Mildred (Hockemeyer) Imig was born September 10, 1923 near Staplehurst, Nebraska to William C. and Anna Sophie (Zwick) Hockemeyer and passed away on January 24, 2009 at her home in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 85 years, 3 months, 14 days. Mildred was baptized October 7, 1923 and was confirmed April 18, 1937, both at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Marysville. She attended school at Marysville. On December 18, 1951, Mildred was united in marriage to Henry F. Imig and they lived all of their married life in Seward. Their marriage was blessed with two sons, Bill and Ken. Mildred was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and VFW Post No. 4755 Auxiliary. Mildred cleaned at Cattle National Bank, the Seward Mini Mall and several homes in Seward. Preceding Mildred in death were her parents, William and Anna Hockemeyer; her husband, Henry Imig; her sisters, Selma Schroeder, Velma Hockemeyer and Gertrude Scott. Mildred is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Cindy Imig, Lincoln and Ken and Patty Imig, Seward; her grandchildren, Marissa Imig, Brian Imig and Lee Imig; nieces and nephews and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers, and memories of life shared with Mildred. |
