Mildred Doreen Meyers was born May 13, 1923 in Omaha, Nebraska to Milton and Gladys (Low) Reeves and passed away November 18, 2010 in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 87 years, 6 months and 5 days. She was a 1939 graduate of Benson High School in Omaha, Nebraska. On November 21, 1945, Mildred was united in marriage to Edward L. Meyers in Omaha, Nebraska. She worked as a CNA at Bryan Hospital in Lincoln for several years before working at Crete Memorial as a CSM. Following her retirement from Crete Memorial Hospital, Mildred moved to Garland, Nebraska. Mildred devoted her life to her children and grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; infant brother; sons, Vernon and Ronald Cole and Lewis Meyers; 3 great grandchildren; Left to cherish her memory is her sons and daughters-in-law, Eldon and Velva Cole of Winterset, IA, John and Beth Meyers of Emerson, IA, Philip and Martha Meyers of Red Cloud, NE, David and Shirley Meyers of Manawa, IA, Edward Meyers of Des Moines, IA ; daughters and sons-in-law, Bonita Rood of Garland, NE, Jan and Ron Reuter of Lincoln, NE; Paula Meyers of Wymore, NE, Vicki and Ralph Woods of Glenwood, IA; daughters-in-law, Kathy, Leora and Sharlene; 35 Grandchildren; 61 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and a host of friends. To this obituary we add out thought, prayers and memories of a life shared with Mildred. |
