Mildred Helen Solis was born on November 30, 1934, in Ulysses, Nebraska to Ivan and Ann (Stanek) Urbanek and passed away on May 19, 2018, in Seward at the age of 83 years, 5 months and 19 days. Mildred grew up in the Ulysses area where she attended District 43 country school.
Mildred moved to Omaha after school where she was a bookkeeper. Mildred was united in marriage to Joe Solis on May 10, 1969. After their marriage Joe and Mildred lived in Omaha and later moved to Chicago, Illinois where they worked for Allied Van Lines. Joe was a supervisor and Mildred was a dispatcher for 12 years, until her retirement in 2000. After their retirement they moved to Tennessee where they lived for 13 years. Mildred enjoyed sewing and doing hospital visits with Joe, who was a deacon at their church. They traveled to Europe three times where they visited the Vatican, France, Switzerland and Germany.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe Solis in 2012; brothers, Adolph and wife Mildred Urbanek, Ray and wife Helen Urbanek; sister, Lucille Wondra, brother-in-law, Edgar Stilwell.
She is survived by her sisters, Rose Stilwell, Lincoln; Marcie and husband Jim Sklenar, David City; Irene Humrick, Scottsdale, AZ, Beatrice and husband Jim Headrick, North Port, AL; brothers, Bernard and wife Phyllis Urbanek, Lotus Grove, GA, Emil and wife Kathy Urbanek, Ulysses, Joe and wife Barb Urbanek, Ulysses; brother-in-law, James Wondra, Staplehurst, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
