Milton Henry Kruse was born on September 10, 1918 in Seward County, Nebraska to Henry Herman and Alma Wilhelmenia (Ahlschwede) Kruse and passed away in Seward, Nebraska on November 22, 2005 at the age of 87 years, 2 months, 12 days. Milton was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Ruby, Nebraska and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church. He attended St. John Elementary School and was a 1937 graduate of Seward High School. While at Seward High he was active with FFA, 4-H and was an AKSARBEN exhibitor. He was a graduate of Grand Island Business College and continued his education at South Dakota State University and the University of Nebraska-Omaha. On May 15, 1944, Milton was united in marriage to Mary Ann Deichmann at St. John Lutheran Church. Their marriage was blessed with one daughter, Joan. Milton was an independent accountant and tax preparer since 1966. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church where he served as church treasurer, as a charter member of St. John Lutheran Laymans League and was a Nebraska Walther League Zone board member. Other memberships included being a charter member of the Seward Chapter Izaak Walton League, a State Director of Nebraska Izaak Walton League and he received the 2001 John W. Tobin Chapter Appreciation Award. He was a life member of the National Farmers Union, charter member of the National Association of Income Tax Practitioners, a member of the National Arbor Day Foundation, the Nebraska Society of Independent Accountants, a member and director of Big Blue Basin Citizens for Water Management. He also served on the Concordia College Association of Congregations. Milton was a past vice president of the Nehawka State Bank. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Alma and his brother, William Kruse. Milton is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Kruse, Seward and his daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Hugh Rogers, Seattle, Washington.
