Nancy Kay (Smutny) Calentine was born November 15, 1944 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to George L. and Marjory I. Smutny, formerly of Seward, NE. While under hospice care in Goshen, New York, Nancy passed away on March 8, 2017, from cardiopulmonary arrest.
Nancy graduated from Southwest High School in Kansas City, MO in 1962 and proceeded to Kansas State University where she earned her Bachelor's Degree. She married Jack E. Calentine on August 28, 1965. Their son, Richard Edward, was born on July 29, 1975 in Colorado Springs, CO.
After her divorce in 1986, Nancy moved to Goshen, NY, where she lived until her death. She was employed as a Guidance Counselor for BOCES (Board of Cooperative Educational Services) in Orange County, NY for thirty years. After retirement, she became an avid quilter.
She is survived by her son Richard Edward Calentine (wife Brandy) of Roanoke, Texas, and her sister, Marilyn Smutny Jacobs (husband Mike) of Redlands, California.
Nancy will be interred with her parents at the Seward Cemetery on June 16, 2017.
