Nancy Jane Baker Green was born November 1, 1925 in Kansas City, Missouri to Paul Headley and Hazel Adair (Pepperel) Baker and passed away on November 10, 2005 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 80 years, 9 days. Nancy attended Benton School in Kansas City, Missouri and was a 1942 graduate of Central High School in Kansas City. She attended the University of Nebraska Lincoln where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority and Phi Lambda Theta education honorary. Nancy graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education with High Distinction and taught at Clinton Elementary School in Lincoln for 3 years. On March 29, 1947, Nancy was united in marriage to Robert Allen Green. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Barbara and Langdon Paul. They moved to Seward in 1954. Nancy was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church. Preceding Nancy in death were her parents, Paul and Hazel Baker, her daughter, Barbara Steinheider; her sister, Jean Baker and her brother-in-law, John McDermott. Nancy is survived by her husband, Dr. Robert A. Green, Seward; her son Langdon Paul Green, Omaha and Mary Green, Omaha; four grandchildren, Rebecca Green, Matthew Green, Christopher Steinheider and Jessa Steinheider; son-in-law, David R. Steinheider, Lincoln; sister, Betty McDermott, Kansas City, MO; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Virginia and Robert Melin, Stillwater, MN, 1 niece and 2 nephews and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Nancy. |
