Nora Louise (Wellmann) Wiemer Erks was born October 26, 1923 in Beaver Crossing, Nebraska to Heinrich George Henry and Helena Marie (Gloystein) Wellmann and passed away on February 17, 2006 in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 82 years, 3 months, 22 days. Nora attended Country School District No. 62 near Beaver Crossing. On November 22, 1942 Nora was united in marriage to Carl Joseph Wiemer at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Cordova, Nebraska. To this union four daughters and two sons were born. Carl passed away in May of 1963. Nora was united in marriage to Irvin Louis Erks on May 2, 1966 at St. Pauls Parsonage in Utica. They lived in Utica for the next four years. In 1970, they moved to Seward. Nora was a retail clerk at Seward Dry Goods, Coast to Coast, and later was employed at Daylight Donuts. Nora and Irvin were custodians for the Seward Civic Center. In 1997, they moved to Lincoln. Irvin passed away in 1998 and Nora continued to make her home in Lincoln. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and was active with the Altar Guild and Church Circle. Nora also served as a Foster Grandparent with the Lincoln Public Schools at Campbell Elementary School.

Nora was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Helena Wellmann; her husbands, Carl Wiemer and Irvin Erks; her brothers, Lawrence, Arlin and Paul Wellmann and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Julie and Gary Schluckebier, Utica, Kathy and Gary Crawford, Lincoln, Jeanie and Mike Orosco, Lincoln, Marsha and Kip Sanley, Elkhorn; sons and daughter-in-law, Lonnie Wiemer, Utica, Bob and Lindy Wiemer, Gresham; brother and sister-in-law, Norman and Iva Lou Wellmann, Waco, sister, Hilda Finke, Lincoln; brothers and sisters-in-law, Clarence and Ravona Erks, Lincoln, Evelyn Wellmann, York, Darlene Wiemer, Seward, Amanda Gocke, Exeter, Christine Erks, Utica, Mathilda Wiemer, Fairmont, Laura and Milton Stoll, Seward; 20 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
