Nora Jane (Bender) Hecox was born January 1, 1931 in Seward County, Nebraska to Ella Florence (Strobridge) and Frank "Joseph" Bender and passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at her home in Dorchester, Nebraska at the age of 84 years, 9 months, 3 days. Nora attended country school near Milford and Seward Public School. Nora was the owner of the Corner Bar in Garland and Last Call Bar in Dorchester. On April 12, 2011, Nora was united in marriage to John E. "Jack" Hecox and they resided in Dorchester. Nora was preceded in death by her parents; her brother and wife, Frank and Darlene Bender; her in-laws, June (Haynes) and Gene Hecox and two grandchildren. Nora is survived by her husband, Jack Hecox of Dorchester; daughters and spouses, Janet (Pollock) and Roy Olsen, Garland, Karen (Pollock) Buller, Seward and Kathy (Pankoke) and Ron Peterson, Cortland. Additional survivors include her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jerry and Beverly Hecox of Beatrice; grandchildren, great-grandchildren; nieces and a nephew; other relatives and friends.
