Norman Henry Janssen was born May 19, 1949 in Beatrice, Nebraska to Henry John and Arene Rosina (Hippen) Janssen and passed away at his home in Seward, Nebraska on September 18, 2010 at the age of 61 years, 3 months, 30 days. Norman was baptized and confirmed at the American Lutheran Church in Filley, Nebraska. He attended Rockford Elementary School and was a 1967 graduate of Filley High School. On May 29, 1971, Norman was united in marriage to Clara Little in Beatrice, Nebraska and their marriage was blessed with three children, Brenda, Sheri, and Kevin. Norman served in the Air National Guard. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Business from Peru College and worked in the banking industry for over 30 years and since 2005 was employed with Great Western Bank in Lincoln. He also worked at Farmland Foods on Sundays. Norman was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Seward and other organizations with which he was actively involved. Norman loved golfing, farming, watching sports and his children and grandchildren. Norman is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Arene Janssen; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Durwood and Leona Little and his brothers-in-law, Dennis Bell, Dale Little and Derwin Little. Norman is survived by his wife, Clara Janssen of Seward; his children and their spouses, Brenda and Randy Baldwin of Sutton, Sheri Janssen and Chad Fritz of Seward, Kevin and Jessica Janssen of Fremont; grandchildren, Tyler, Nathan and Katie Baldwin and Kevin and Jessica's baby due in November; brothers and sisters-in-law, Les and Ellen Janssen and Steve and Angie Janssen, all of Virginia, NE; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Junior and Vicky Little, Crab Orchard, Roger and Vicki Little, Plymouth, Dallas and Barb Little, Kingsburg, CA; sister-in-law, Betty Bell, Beatrice; nieces and nephews and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers, and memories of life shared with Norman. |
