Patricia Ann Wellman, of Lincoln, was born on February 24, 1947, in Lincoln, Nebraska to Elwin "Al" and Betty (Restau) Ahrens. She was baptized on March 9, 1947, and confirmed in the Lutheran faith on March 26, 1961, at St. John's Lutheran Church. Patricia grew up in Seward, Nebraska and attended grade school at St. John Lutheran School. She graduated from Seward High School in 1965. Following high school, she married Ron Spradley and moved to San Diego, California. To this union a daughter, Carla, was born. The couple later divorced, and Patricia remarried Clark Wellman on August 17, 1968. To this union two children were born, Carrie and Jennifer "Jennie" Wellman.

Patricia was a stay-at-home mom who later attended the University of Nebraska and obtained her Registered Nurse degree in 1978. Patricia focused her nursing career on child and adult mental health services, retiring in 2009. Patricia, a soul whose heart overflowed with love for animals, had an innate ability to connect with them as evidenced by the numerous cats and dogs who found solace and affection in her care throughout the years. Music was a melody that resonated deeply within Patricia's spirit, and among the many tunes that adorned her life, Elvis held a special place. Her culinary creations reflected her perfectionist nature, each dish a masterpiece with her unwavering commitment to excellence. Crossword puzzles were a beloved pastime. As a sister, she gave love and compassion. Patricia's natural beauty shone radiantly through all her years and will be missed by many.

Patricia passed away on April 1, 2024, in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 77 years, 1 month and 8 days.

Patricia is preceded in death by her parents, Al and Betty Ahrens; brother, Lee Ahrens; son-in-law, Jeff Hain.

Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Carla Hain, Carrie Wellman, Jennie (Jake) Freeman; grandchildren, Dustin Hain, Jared (Elizabeth) Hain, Colin Hain, Josina Hain; great-grandchildren, Layna and Brynn Hain; brother, Dave Ahrens; nieces, Heather (Dan) Meyer, Stacy Crable; nephew, Shawn Ahrens; sister-in law, Linda (Lee) Ahrens; aunt, Geraldine Brigham; special friend, Clark Wellman and several cousins.
