Phyllis Marial (Perry) Stonerook was born November 2, 1917 near Ulysses, Nebraska to Gurney and Lillian (Benson) Perry and passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2012 in David City, Nebraska at the age of 94 years, 10 months, 4 days. Phyllis lived with her family in the Ulysses area until she was nine years of age and then the family moved to Fillmore County, and later into Exeter, Nebraska where she graduated from Exeter High School in 1934. Phyllis was united in marriage to Clarence Melvin Stonerook at McCool Junction, Nebraska on August 22, 1936. Their marriage was blessed with eight sons. Phyllis was a wife, mother and homemaker. She was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church in Ulysses, Nebraska. She was also involved in 4-H and served as librarian at the Ulysses Public Library for many years. Phyllis enjoyed reading, crocheting and sewing, working crossword puzzles and spending time with her family. Phyllis is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; her sons, Charles "Bud" Stonerook and Robert Stonerook; grandsons, Don Stonerook and Jimmy Stonerook; granddaughter, Leah Stonerook; a great-granddaughter, Carisa Lynn Campbell; daughters-in-law, Sue Stonerook and Nancy Stonerook and her brother, Bob Perry. Phyllis is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Carl and Joyce Stonerook, Omaha, Roy and Marsha Stonerook, Lincoln, Leland and Juanita Stonerook, Big Springs, TX, Louis and Penny Stonerook, Carroll, IA, Larry Stonerook, Omaha, Dennis Stonerook, Pacific Junction, IA; daughter-in-law, Kim Stonerook, Omaha; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a host of friends.
