Randall James "Randy" Skoda was born on September 28, 1960, in Seward to Richard Joseph and Violet Mae (Kouma) Skoda and passed away on April 27, 2018, in Fairbanks, AK, at the age of 57 years, 6 months and 30 days.
Randy grew up in the Bee area where he attended country school District #87. He then attended Bee Public School and later graduated from David City Aquinas with the Class of 1979. Randy enlisted into the Army National Guard and worked at Walkers for several years. In 1985 he moved to Arizona, later to Texas and back to Nebraska where he worked at various positions. In 1998 Randy started Skoda Express where he transported medical supplies for 18 years. He moved to North Pole, Alaska in May of 2016 to be closer to his daughter.
Randy was an avid sports fan, especially Husker football. He loved playing sports in high school and played in State Basketball for Aquinas. Randy also won a scholarship for his basketball talent. Randy loved old cars and was very fond of his Z28. He had that special bond with his brothers and loved razzing them every chance he could. He was a hard worker and always had two or three jobs at a time. Randy was a selfless man and loved helping people in need.
Randy was preceded in death by his father, Richard in 2005; nephew, Adam Skoda in 2017.
Randy is survived by his daughter, Stacy Skoda, North Pole, AK; mother, Violet Branch, Seward; two brothers, Steve Skoda and wife Sharon, Lincoln, Rick Skoda and wife Catherine, Seward; sister, Denise Fechner and husband David, Bee.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A rosary will follow at 7:00 p.m. at Zabka Funeral Home, Seward. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, May 4, 2018, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Monsignor Robert Tucker celebrating Mass. Memorials may be made to the Skoda family for future designations.
