Rebecca Sue (Bohac) Hastings went home to the Lord on January 17, 2010 at the age of 41 years, 2 months, 14 days. She was born on November 3, 1968 in Omaha, Nebraska to Richard R. and Antoinette S. (Valenti) Bohac. Becky was a 1987 graduate of Seward High School. On April 17, 1993, Becky was united in marriage to Gary Allen Hastings in Seward, Nebraska. Becky was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Brainard where she served as President of PCCW. She was a member of the Nebraska Air National Guard and past president of the UNOPA and NeOPA. Becky was currently employed with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in the inventory department. Becky enjoyed riding her motorcycle, cheering for the Huskers and spending time with her dogs, Mattie and Elly.
Becky is preceded in death by her grandparents, Anthony and Mary Katheryn Valenti, Tonie and Leon Fiedler and Joseph Bohac; uncle, Gene Dostal; aunt, Jean Kovar; father-in-law, Lloyd Hastings; sister-in-law, Judy Gonzales.
Becky is survived by her husband, Gary Hastings of Brainard; daughters, Jamie Hastings and special friend Donnie Grose of Glen Rock, WY, Kimberley O'Connor and her husband Thomas of Centreville, VA; sons, Garry Hastings of Fremont, Barry Hastings and his wife, Rebecca of Alliance, NE; nine grandchildren; parents, Richard and Toni Bohac of Garland; sisters and brothers-in-law, Tammy and Alan Tejral of Brainard, Julie and Trevor Klimm of Garland; brother, Joe Bohac and special friend Chris Robinett of David City; many nieces and nephews; grandmother, Stacie Bohac of Wahoo; mother-in-law and step-father-in-law, Wilma and Virgil Kleensang of Hay Springs, NE; brothers-in-law, Gene and Jeanne Hastings of Scottsbluff, Larry and Cori Hastings of Cheyenne, WY; dogs, Mattie and Elly. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Becky.
