Regina Grace Coffey was born August 5, 1921, in Seward County to Jeremiah and Mary Helen (Hannon) Coffey. Regina passed away on September 27, 2016, in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 95 years, 1 month, 22 days.
Regina attended country school and was a graduate of the Seward High School Class of 1939. She worked at Protective Fire and Casualty Insurance Company for thirteen years. In 1955, Regina started working in Lincoln at the Catholic Chancery. She was employed there for forty years, driving back and forth each day. During her time there she worked for four bishops.
Regina was a lifelong member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. In her early years she was an avid bowler.
Regina is preceded in death by her parents, Jeremiah and Mary Helen (Hannon) Coffey; her five brothers, Jean, Gerald, Leonard, Robert and Lawrence Coffey; her eight sisters, Helen and Virginia Coffey, Florence Aime, Frances Varner, Marjorie Draper, Lucille Fletcher, Elizabeth Paden and Lois Hallahan. Also preceding her in death were three nephews, Richard Varner, Michael Hallahan and Gerald Varner; two great nephews, Sean Michael Varner and Steve Anderson and a niece, Rita Anderson.
Regina is survived by her nephews, Ronald and Carol Varner, Tom Varner, Dale Anderson; nieces, Sandra Ross, Joan and Norman Miers, Barbara and Michael Demuth, Joan Varner and several out of state nephews and nieces and many friends.
