Richard Lee Best was born May 17, 1934 in Norfolk, Nebraska to Rueben Lee and Dorothy (Wachter) Best and passed away in Lincoln, Nebraska on April 7, 2011 at the age of 76 years, 10 months, 21 days. Richard attended school in Norfolk and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Richard was united in marriage to Freda Devoin White on September 24, 1955 in Oklahoma. They lived in Texas and Arizona and moved to Gresham, Nebraska in 1995. Richard is preceded in death by his father, Rueben Best, his mother, Dorothy Best, step-mother, Pauline Best; his brothers, Jack Best and Bill Best and his grandmothers, Clara Wachter and Clara Best. Richard is survived by his wife, Freda Best of Gresham; his children and their spouses, Kim and Deb Best of Silbee, Texas, Richard, Jr. and Lori Best of Gilbert, Arizona, Dot and Dan Cradick of Gresham, Randy Best of Phoenix, Arizona, Jerry Best of Gresham and Edie and Reno Silva of Oregon; his sister and brother-in-law, Joy and Don Bauermiester of Norfolk; his brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Wava Best of North Platte; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers, and memories of life shared with Richard. |
