Richard Lee "Dick" Pariset was born on December 18, 1938, in Seward to Arthur and Evelyn (Cromwell) Pariset and passed away on October 10, 2018, in Seward at the age of 79 years, 9 months, and 22 days. Dick grew up East of Goehner and then moved to Beaver Crossing. Dick attended country school until the 5th grade. He was a graduate of Beaver Crossing High School with the Class of 1956. He attended the University of Nebraska Lincoln for one year.
On September 20, 1958, he was united in marriage to Geraldine "Jerry" Harter in Beaver Crossing and their marriage was blessed with six children. Dick loved farming and raising cattle and did both his whole life until recently when his health forced him to retire. Dick had several enterprises throughout the years. He raised Simmental cattle and ran his own sale ring at the farm for many years. He was a seed dealer for NC+ hybrids. Dick trucked registered cattle and exotic animals all over the nation. Dick had a pilot's license and owned his own airplane. He took aerial shots for Scott Engineering. He never lost his love for flying.
Dick was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church as well as a Trustee of the church, a Board Member of the Co-op, a member of the Chamber of Commerce, and Chairman of the Board for the Village of Beaver Crossing. Dick and Jerry enjoyed sponsoring a Marine Corps Toys for Tots fundraising drive for the last 10 years. Dick was a very giving person and a great family man. Dick always had a positive attitude. He took great pride in his grandchildren and loved attending their events and activities when he could.
Dick is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jerry Pariset, Beaver Crossing; five children, Kim (Tim) Due, Friend, Julie Wiltse, St. Peters, MO, Gail (Craig) Conta, Centennial, CO, Tim Pariset, Utica, and Marcy Welch and friend Doug Brandt, Hebron; Grandchildren, Blake, Samantha and Sidney Due, Chelsea and Trea Klein, Emily and Maggie Wiltse, Vincent and Dominic Conta, Sadie, Shelby and Cody Pariset, Lindsay, Clayton and Emily Welch; and four great-grandchildren, Jamie, Keshia, Aleah, and Emery; brothers-in-laws, Don Harter, Elkhorn and Don Schark, Wilbur; sisters-in-law, Pat Pariset, Omaha, Jean O'Connor, Seward, Margaret (Dick) Trojan, Beaver Crossing, Lois (Ron) Korinek, Lincoln; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Dick met many people over the years and the host of friends extends nation wide.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Richard Paul; brother, Don Pariset; two sons-in-law, Robert Klein and Chris Wiltse; four brothers-in-law, Marvin, Maurice, Mahlon, and Robert Harter; four sisters-in-law, Maurine Schark, Mattie Harter, Norma Harter and Carol Harter.
