Robert Lee "Bob" Luft was born April 22, 1933 at Archer, Nebraska to Phillip E. and Katherine (Mohr) Luft and passed away in Seward, Nebraska on May 22, 2014 at the age of 81 years and one month. Bob attend school and graduated from Platte Center in 1951. After high school, Bob entered the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War. He was united in marriage to Darlene Augustus Eckmann on June 16, 1956 in Columbus and to this union four children were born, Rachelle, Rodney, Rosalind, and Randall. On August 25, 1975, Bob was united in marriage to Ella Marie (Glines) Peterson in Kenesaw, NE. They lived all of their married life in Garland. Bob was a 40+ -year employee of Lincoln Telephone and Telegraph Company. Bob was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Garland, American Legion Post #369 in Garland, and a former Mayor of Garland. He belonged to a cribbage club in Staplehurst and Bass Masters Association. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Phillip and Katherine Luft, his wife, Ella in 2012, and his grandson, Sloane Peterson. Bob is survived by his best friend, his dog Fritz; his children and spouses, Rachelle and Brian Brown, Waterloo, IA; Rodney and Pat Luft, Lincoln, Rosalind and Dan Eldridge, Ellensburg, WA; and Randall Luft, Santa Rosa, CA; his stepchildren and spouses, Michael and Meredith Peterson, Cheyenne, WY and Jodene and Donald Cordes, Prosser, NE; his grandchildren, Michael and Hollie Cordes, Crystal and Tony Krause, Matthew and Jenny Cordes, Colt and Peggy Peterson, Ashley (Mrs. Sloane) Peterson, Ryan Luft, Taylor Luft, Risa Eldridge, Jake Luft, Harrison Luft, Parker Luft; his great grandchildren, Kyrstin Peterson, Bailey, Brody, Kasey, Alexis Fulton, Micha, Hailey, Riley, and Brian Cordes, and Eliot Krause, his brother Jim Luft, Sherman, TX; the mother of their children, Darlene Kotil and her husband Dallas, Lincoln; other relatives and a host of friends.
