Robert Allen Schnell was born June 3, 1951 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Walter Fredrick and Rose Genevieve (Meyers) Schnell and passed away on October 16, 2006 in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 55 years, 4 months, 13 days. Bob graduated from Lincoln High School in 1970; he served his country in the U.S. Army in Vietnam from 1971-1973. On January 11, 1974, Bob was united in marriage to Kathleen Sue Kelly, in Lincoln, Nebraska. This union was blessed with four children, Amy, Katie, Ginny and Timothy. The family lived in Lincoln until 1982, when they moved to Seward. Bob was employed as a welder with Tenneco Automotive in Seward for 24 years. He was a member of VFW Post No. 4755 Seward and the Seward High School Booster Club. Bob was a Big Red fan and was also a Nascar fan. He enjoyed camping and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter F. Schnell and his father-in-law, James W. Laws. Bob is survived by his wife, Kathy Schnell, Seward; his daughters and sons-in-law, Amy and Patrick Vrbka, Staplehurst, Katie and Chans Vongphasouk, Grimes, IA, Ginny Schnell, Denver, CO; his son, Timothy Schnell, Seward; grandchildren, Megan and Zack Vrbka, Mya Vongphasouk; his mother, Rose Schnell, Lincoln; brothers and sister-in-law, David and Deb Schnell, Lincoln, Ron Schnell, Ashland; sister and brother-in-law, Pat and R. John Wolfe, Ulysses; mother-in-law, Dorothy Laws, Lincoln; sister-in-law, Margaret Kelly, Lincoln; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, James and Cindy Laws, Lincoln, Mike Kelly, Omaha; many nieces and nephews; cousins and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Bob. |
