Robert Lee Schulz was born January 1, 1962 in Seward, Nebraska the son of Edwin Adolf Rudolf Schulz and Nora Frieda Hedwig (Klintworth) Schulz and passed away on December 3, 2017 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 55 years, 11 months, 2 days following a long hard fought 2 year battle with kidney cancer. Bob continued to amaze and inspire his doctors and medical staff with his strength, spirit and grace to the very end. Bob was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church. He was a 1980 graduate of Seward High School.
Bob began working with his parents' business, Schulz Transfer, during high school and continued to work there until purchasing the company in 2011. He was a member of the National Federation of Independent Business. Bob was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Seward.
Bob loved to get out of the office and drive his semi-truck. Driving was a joy and not a job to Bob. He enjoyed his 1968 Dodge Charger, 1984 Hurst Olds, 1970's music, family gatherings and holidays. Bob was a very good bowler, enjoying both weekend and league bowling for 35 years and reached his life goal of a perfect 300 game on October 31, 2009!
Bob's love of playing cards started at a very young age with his great aunt Martha. It was here he perfected the art of loudly slamming the winning card, followed by a big belly laugh and smile. He loved all card and board games, especially with close family and friends.
Bob was known as the "go-to-guy". When anyone needed help, day or night, Bob would drop whatever he was doing and make himself available, even after his cancer diagnosis.
Bob and his dad extended their business in 2002 to include Schulz Truck Rebuilders. With this, Ed was able to enjoy negotiating truck purchases and Bob could happily rebuild Ed's acquisitions. They enjoyed doing this together until Ed's passing in 2008.
Bob was blessed with a quick wit and great sense of humor. Many were drawn to Bob by his infectious smile, loud voice, and a laugh that "wrapped around" anyone that had the pleasure to meet and know him.
Preceding Bob in death were his parents, Edwin and Nora Schulz; and his brothers-in-law, Timothy Kent and Mark Mueller.
