Robert Paul Sheldon was born on October 9, 1967, in Omaha, Nebraska to Irwin Willard and Rita Ann (Rezek) Sheldon and passed away unexpectedly on January 7, 2015, in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 47 years, 2 months and 29 days. Bob spent his younger years in Omaha before the family moved to the family farm North of Garland. He attended St. John Lutheran School and then graduated from Seward High School with the class of 1987. After high school, Bob moved back to Omaha where he worked construction his entire life. Bob loved to fish, cook and was the barbeque king. He also loved setting around camp fires with his nephews. Bob was an avid New England Patriots fan and enjoyed throwing Darts. He was preceded in death by his father Irwin in 1982. Bob is survived by his mother Rita Sheldon of Garland, NE; two brothers, James and Kathryn Sheldon of Garland, NE; and Michael and Rosemarie Sheldon of LaVista, NE; two sisters, Kathleen Vencalek of Bellevue, NE; and Jeanne Oborny and husband Ben of Garland, NE; nine nephews, Jarrod Oborny, Jordan Oborny, Mike Sheldon, Matthew Sheldon, Craig Sheldon, Andrew Sheldon, Jason Vancalek, Brian Vancalek, David Vancalek. two nieces, Jennifer Andersen, Jodi Wilke and girlfriend Jeri Schroeder and her son Jake. Memorials may be directed to the Garland Fire Department or to the family for later designations.
