Robert J. Garcia was born November 26, 1925 in Fairbury, Nebraska to Augustine and Rosie (Kinzie) Garcia and passed away on October 29, 2005 in Milford, Nebraska at the age of 79 years, 11 months, 3 days. He attended school in Fairbury, Nebraska. On April 15, 1951, Robert was united in marriage to Bette Plies, in Fairbury. To this union four children were born, John, Pat, Linda and Esther. They lived most of their married life in Diller and Odell, Nebraska. Robert retired from the Gage County Highway Department in 1990. After he retired he enjoyed woodworking projects making them for family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Augustine and Rosie (Kinzie) Garcia, brothers, Ray and Greg Garcia, son-in-law, Kevin Heble, nephew, Craig Garcia. Robert is survived by his wife, Bette Garcia of Odell, NE, son and daughter-in-law, John and Linda Garcia of Diller, NE, daughters and sons-in-law, Pat and Kenny Toovey of Seward, NE, Linda and Tom Wendland of Diller, NE and Esther and Randy Freitag of Diller, NE, 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandsons; sisters and brothers-in-law, Esther Hopkins of Citrus Heights, CA, Delores and Marion Loyd of Tucson, AZ, sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Sharon and Robert Griswold of Scottsbluff, NE, Pat Walters of Belleville, KS, Jean Weisel of Lincoln, nieces, nephews and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Robert. |
