Obituary

Robert "Bob" Mayo, 65, Seward, Nebraska, (formerly of La Crosse, Kansas) died Saturday, August 22, 2015, at Saint Elizabeth Regional Medical Center, Lincoln, Nebraska. Mr. Mayo was born December 14, 1949, in Beatrice, Nebraska, the son of Leo Dale Mayo and Esther Faye Mayo-McCracken. He was a two year resident of Seward, Nebraska, moving there from La Crosse, Kansas, where he had been a resident since 1991. He was a heavy equipment operator in the construction industry. He was a United States Army veteran serving in the Vietnam Conflict. Survivors include: one son, Jason Mayo (Amber), Seward, Nebraska; one daughter, Vickie Purdy (Gene), La Crosse, Kansas; four grandchildren, Dominique, Dyson, Torrence, and Brodie; two brothers, Terry Mayo, Ragan, Nebraska, and Lonnie Mayo, Ragan, Nebraska; and one sister, Jeannie Pelkey, Decatur, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Jerry Mayo. Church visitation will be Thursday, August 27, 2015, from 9:30 A.M. to 10:20 A.M. at the First Christian Church, La Crosse, Kansas. Funeral service will be Thursday, August 27, 2015, at 10:30 A.M. at the First Christian Church, La Crosse, Kansas, with Pastor Mark Sizemore officiating.
