Robert August "Bob" Schmersal was born on January 23, 1951, in Garland, Nebraska to Roy and Nadine (Bock) Schmersal and passed away on December 12, 2021, in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 70 years, 10 months and 19 days.

Bob grew up in the Malcolm area and graduated from Malcolm High School with the Class of 1969. He was a handyman and enjoyed woodworking and carpentry. Bob used his talents to create beautiful woodwork and cabinetry for many projects in and around Lincoln. He had a love for hunting and fishing where he held seven Master Angler Awards. He also threw for the horseshoe state tournament.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Rosemarie Hill.

Survivors include his three children; five grandchildren; brothers, Russell Schmersal, Roger and wife, Sharon Schmersal, Joseph and wife, Katherine Schmersal; sister, Pauline and husband, George Ketterer and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of a life shared with Robert.
