Rodney Ray Hiebenthal, 71, of Milford, died at home on May 15, 2012. Rodney was born July 27, 1940, in Fremont. He graduated from Hooper High School. He then attended Nebraska Technical/Vocational School (now Southeast Community College) and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He completed his degree in vocational education at Colorado State University. He taught at Southeast Community College-Milford for 42 years in the Machine Tool and Die program. Rodney was a founding member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Milford. In his spare time and retirement, he enjoyed restoring Ford Dearborn farming equipment and using it on his farm. He found pleasure in showing his restored tractors in shows and parades. A favorite vacation spot was the mountains of Colorado. Family members include his wife, Judy; daughter and son-in-law, Annette and Jim Gaskill of Lyons, CO; daughter, Laura Hiebenthal of Greeley, CO; brother and sister-in-law, Rodger and Sally Hiebenthal of Herman; nephew and family, Ben and Jen, Shea, Henry Hiebenthal of Fremont; niece and husband, Karen and Mike Drewery of Barnett, TN; stepchildren, Kerry and Chris Koenig of Las Vegas, NV, Kelly and Jerry Bosak of Omaha, Kyle and Jodi Shull and children, Cora and Jordan, of Hornick, IA. Preceded in death by his former wife, Mary; infant son; and parents, Amos and Alma (Hasebroock) Hiebenthal.
