Rodney Ray Poe was born May 3, 1935 in Seward, Nebraska the son of Walter Robert Poe and Leona Margaret (Conway) Poe and passed away in Milford, Nebraska on October 24, 2017 at the age of 82 years, 5 months, 21 days. Rodney was a 1952 graduate of Seward High School. He served in the U.S. Army from January 30, 1958 through January 14, 1960. After returning from military service, Rodney was employed with the City of Lincoln Water Department for 18 years and then worked various jobs in the Seward area - for Les Schulz, at the Co-op Elevators in Tamora, Ulysses and Ruby and was also a general laborer. Rodney was united in marriage to Helen Georgia (Policky) Truhlicka on December 18, 1974 in Seward, Nebraska.
Rodney's hobbies included playing Keno in Denton, going to auctions, driving in the country and seeing horses, tinkering and making bird houses.
Rodney was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Helen in 2013, a daughter Ronda Adamy, brother-in-law, Clarence Ekstein and sister-in-law, Sandy Policky.
Rodney is survived by his children and their spouses: Randy and Janell Poe, Colorado Springs, CO, Robert "Bob" and Mary Poe, Lincoln, Rebecca "Becky" and Mike Roberts, Lincoln, Roger and Christina Poe, Lincoln; many grandchildren; step-children and spouses: Connie and Ron "Charlie" Hull, Seward, Michael "Mike" Truhlicka, Seward, Gene Truhlicka, Seward, Shirley and Gary Cihal, Dwight, Stanley Truhlicka, Riverside, CA, Ronald "Ron" and Deb Truhlicka, Bee; brother-in-law, Joe Policky, Ruby; and sister-in-law, Alice Ekstein, Valparaiso, other relatives and friends.
