Roland Henry Klintworth was born on December 24, 1924, to Henry and Hattie (Krieser) Klintworth in Seward, Nebraska. He was the first of three children born to this union, having a younger sister Marcella and a younger brother Theodore "Ted". Roland received the blessing of Holy Baptism on January 18, 1925 at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward by Rev. C.H. Becker. His baptismal sponsors were his grandfathers, Robert Krieser & John Klintworth. Roland confirmed his faith in the Triune God and was welcomed as a communicant member on April 2, 1939, at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward by Rev. Iddo Heinicke. Roland attended elementary school at St. John Lutheran and graduated from Seward High School in 1943.
On December 27, 1953, he married Maria Schroeder at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward by Rev. Martin Yauk. They were the parents of three sons Monty, Mitch & Marty. They spent the first part of their married life on a farm near Staplehurst and joining Our Redeemer there; and then moving to a farm east of Seward in 1985, and joining Immanuel-Middle Creek and finally moving to the John Klintworth farm in 1992, along with their son Monty and daughter-in-law Chris. He entered Ridgewood Care Center in October, 2008. He enjoyed family get-togethers, helping others when he was needed and going out to eat. His strengths included being able to talk to anyone about anything and his sense of humor. He enjoyed the daily card games at Ridgewood and the fellowship of the Residents and Staff there. He was also appreciative of the religious services at Ridgewood and the visits from his pastor who brought him communion. Roland was involved with farming and livestock his whole life. He also was a substitute mail carrier for Route 1, Seward, a bus driver for Seward Public Schools, a Wilson Hybrid seed dealer and wrote insurance for Farmer's Mutual of Seward County.
On January 9, 2016, after having fought the good fight and keeping the faith, Roland finished this earthly life and passed quietly into the waiting arms of Jesus. God granted Roland 91 years, and 16 days on this earth, and now Roland is united with his beloved family members who have gone before him and are in eternity with Jesus in heaven, including his wife Maria in 2002, his parents, Henry in 1976 and Hattie in 1979, his brother Ted in 2005, his sister Marcella and her husband Richard in 2010, his son Marty in 2011 and his daughter in law Chris in 2013.
Roland is survived by, his sons Monty of rural Pleasant Dale, NE; Mitch and Priscilla Klintworth of rural Seward, NE; two grandsons, Daniel & Kim Klintworth of Seward, NE and their daughters Trista & Christina, Nathan Klintworth of Lincoln, NE; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Elwin & Marilyn Schroeder of Utica MI; Rose Klintworth of Seward, NE; An aunt, Clara Krieser of Seward, NE; three nephews and two nieces and their families, plus many extended family members and friends. Roland's earthly body will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife Maria, at Greenwood Cemetery, in Seward, Nebraska, to await the glorious day of the resurrection of all the dead.
