Ronald Dean Gillespie passed away on Monday, May 3, 2021 at his residence.  Ron was born in Nebraska City on May 31, 1939, the son of Wayne and Doris (Schreiner) Gillespie.  He married Mary Marie Davis on June 20, 1976 in Omaha.  He worked as a meat cutter for many years.

Ron loved to visit with people, work in his yard & garden, was an avid Nebraska fan (and that meant any sport), loved to fish, and for a time found joy in woodworking.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife; children, Sue Orwosky (Jeff) & Eugene Slauter (Kathy); grandchildren, Jamie Young, Jeremy Cameron, Jennifer Cameron, Josh Cameron, Austin Orwosky, Lincoln Orwosky, Price Orwosky, Brooke Berger, Matt Gillespie, Morgan Slauter, Dusty Perry, Jess Perry, and Sarah Perry; brother, Dwaine Gillespie (Connie); numerous great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Bill Gillespie.

Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 14, 2021, at the Seward Public Library with Pastor Galen Skinner officiating.
