Ronald Ray Kapke was born on December 12, 1959, in Lincoln, Nebraska to William Sr. and Irma Jean (Thiessen) Kapke and passed away on January 27, 2022, in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 62 years, 1 month and 15 days. Ron grew up in Pleasant Dale where he attended elementary school. He attended and graduated from Milford High School with the Class of 1978.

Ron was united in marriage on November 13, 1982, to Jayne Liesveld at the Hope Reformed Church in Lincoln, Nebraska and to this union two children were born, Adam and Katie. Ron was employed at the Lancaster County maintenance shop as a mechanic for 37 years, until his retirement in 2014. He then continued to farm full-time. Ron loved his family, especially his six grandchildren, and he loved attending his children and grandchildren's events. Ron enjoyed socializing at the co-op for coffee and happy hour at the P Dale Bar.

Ron was a member of the Pleasant Dale Fire Department for 40 years. He served on the Pleasant Dale Cemetery Board for nearly 20 years. Ron enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved raising cattle and his dog, Elle. Ron was a member of the Pleasant Dale United Methodist Church.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Tom Kapke, Sr.; parents-in-law, Anthony and Kathryn Liesveld.

Survivors cherishing his memory include his wife, Jayne Kapke, Pleasant Dale; son, Adam and wife, Beth Kapke, Pleasant Dale; daughter, Katie and husband, Harley Epp, Plymouth; grandchildren, Makenna, Cole and Avery Kapke, Haylee, Wyatt and Harper Epp; siblings, Mary (Terry) Frecks, Omaha, Bill (Judy) Kapke, Milford; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of a life shared with Ron.

The family is requesting that everyone wear casual attire. The church is also asking everyone to wear a mask.
