Ron grew up in the Brainard area where he attended grade school at Holy Trinity Catholic School, then attended and graduated from East Butler High School with the Class of 1978. During his junior and senior years, Ron worked at Henningsen Egg Plant in David City, Nebraska. After graduating from high school, Ron worked at the Schuyler Beef Plant for several years. In 1989, the couple made their home in Seward, where Ron joined Hughes Brothers, working in the shipping department. He later returned to trucking with PJ Express, where he remained until his retirement. Ron was a former member of the Dwight Volunteer Fire Department.
Ron enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He loved turtle hunting, fishing, golfing, and treasured the time he spent with Sandy bow hunting, watching Husker football, and cruising around town in their golf cart. He was a past member of the Sons of American Legion Post #110 of Dwight, Assumption Catholic Church, Dwight and St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Seward.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Janet Prochaska; wife, Sandy Prochaska.
